Hot Air Deflector H-D Pan America 1250
Noted Italian ADV parts and accessory specialist, designer and manufacturer Unit Garage is best known for its ADV styling, performance and handling parts and upgrade kits for 'Metric' motorcycle models such as the popular Yamaha Ténéré 700, with similar offerings for ADV models from the likes of BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Husqvarna, Moto Guzzi, Kawasaki, Mash and the new Harley-Davidson Pan America.
Seen here for the Pan America 1250, this hot air deflector pushes the air outwards, away from your left leg. Like all Euro 5 models, the Pan America gets quite hot. Made out of a high-grade, temperature resistant plastic, it is described as easy to install onto the existing supports.
"In addition to being very functional it hides the rear area of the fan - a not very aesthetically pleasing design fail," says founder and former racer Fabio Marcaccini. Based in the hills near Rimini on Italy's Adriatic coast, Marcaccini swapped the European 250 cc Championship (in which he rode for 'Team Italy') for the first of his five consecutive Paris-Dakar rallies in 1997 - back when it really was from Paris to Dakar - and, along with commercial partner and industrial designer Michiel Verstockt, has built a business that sells through some 350 dealers in Europe - from Estonia, Sweden and Denmark to Germany, Benelux, France, Italy, Spain and elsewhere.
