Kellermann

Kellermann Atto DF Integral

Aachen, Germany based premium motorcycle accessories and lights specialist Kellermann is noted for offering the world's smallest indicators and rear/brake light combination units.

Atto RB Dark Integral (rear and brake light with strongly tinted glass)

The company has now released a "radical new version" of its highly successful Atto DF - the Atto DF Integral - the world's smallest indicator, rear/brake light combination unit that is ready to be built-in.
The new version can be fully integrated into the fairing or other components. The slim casing almost fully disappears and gives the sought after 'clean look' that customizers look for - continuing the tradition for high powered, high-tech, durable miniaturized custom solutions that Kellermann has been pioneering for more than 25 years.

Atto Integral (indicator)

Together with the Atto DF Integral, Kellermann is introducing a new range of ready to build-in versions, including a 3-in-1 combination Atto that can be used as an indicator only and rear/brake light integral version - a complete range of options that anticipates all the combinations and applications that dealers and customizers would need from an LED program:

•    Atto DF Integral (indicator, rear and brake light combination)
•    Atto Integral (indicator)
•    Atto Dark Integral (indicator with strongly tinted glass)
•    Atto RB Integral (rear and brake light)
•    Atto RB Dark Integral (rear and brake light with strongly tinted glass)

As with all Kellermann designs, all components, the complete tech package, is integrated into the casing - no additional components need to be added to the wiring - and as is always the case, safety is at the heart of that tech package with extra strong flash and illumination power and full ECE approval for street legal 12 volt DC applications.

HardDrive/WPS

FLO Pro Series Race-Bred MX Style Pegs

Boise, Idaho based distributor HardDrive/WPS continues to add to its V-twin product line with several new brands now available and ready to ship to U.S. dealers - from National Cycle screens to ODI Lock-On V-twin grips, from BOSS Audio products and KB Super Duty Series pistons to the race-bred, super strong, precision-machined Pro Series MX style pegs for H-D and FTR 1200 applications, and now, is exclusive distributor for FLO Motorsports.
A major player on the AMA Supercross, MX and off-road scene, Fountain Hills, Arizona based FLO Motorsports combines top quality materials, genuinely race-bred design and exquisite finishing to produce MX style footpegs that are strong, durable, ergonomic and above all safe.

FLO Motorsports' adjustable MX style footpegs (seen here for Softails 2018 and up) feature a 360-degree rotating clevis and choice of three sizes - also available for FXR, Dyna and Sportster.

Using top grade German forged 7075 T6 alloy, FLO Motorsports footpegs are used by some of the top AMA Supercross and MX athletes and teams in the world - such as factory Supercross teams like CTR Motorsports (Yamaha), Rockwell Race Team (Yamaha), SKVI, Cycle Gear Team, Colby Raha, Haiden Deegan, Brian Deegan, Talon Hawkins, Preston Boespflug, and more.
"The 7075 T6 alloy that we use is a true high-strength 'aircraft' grade aluminum alloy. Its typical yield strength (73 KSI in the T6 condition) is comparable to certain steels, giving the alloy a remarkably high strength-to-weight ratio - its specific strength is comparable to that of 6Al-4V Grade 5 titanium. Our 7075 is roughly 2-3 times more expensive than 6061 - for this reason it is not as commonly used.
"However, footpegs are one of the most overlooked parts on a bike, but one of the most important when it comes to safety. No matter how much power a bike makes, it means nothing if there is no control of the bike. Harley riders probably don't give as much consideration to the functionality of their footpegs as they do to how they look, but most professional AMA Supercross, Motocross and off-road riders go with aftermarket footpegs for a wider platform, more grip and overall control of the bike, and ours are considered to be the best available.

Seen here for the FTR 1200, FLO Motorsports use a forged 7075 T6 alloy with a specific strength comparable to that of 6Al-4V Grade 5 titanium.

"FLO Motorsports' original V2 Harley pegs were one of the first moto-inspired pegs on the V-twin market. In addition to their 'top shelf' alloy, they have advanced design features such as removable and replaceable cleats (teeth), replaceable 360-degree rotating clevis and a choice of three different sizes - starting with our V2 peg at 2'' x 3.125''; V3 peg at 2.7'' x 3.5 and the V4 peg at 3.5'' x 5''.
"Our Harley footpegs can be rotated a full 360 degrees to any angle, provide pitch adjustment hardware and come with replaceable, unique style stainless steel teeth."
Seen here for 2018 and up Softails and Indian's FTR 1200, they are also available for FXR, Dyna, Sportsters and custom chopper builds. FLO also offers serrated V-twin/H-D mini and touring/bagger floorboards, MX style levers, brake pedals, brake rotors and more. They are also available in chrome.

Bagger Nation

Bagger Nation Pre-Wired Monkey Bars

Paul Yaffe's Phoenix, Arizona based Bagger Nation's Monkey Bars program is popular with all touring riders, including Baggers of course, and with the company's original Monkey Bars for 2014 - present Street/Electra Glide and Ultra Classic now available "pre-wired", expect them to stay that way - "Monkeying around has never been easier!"

Pre-wired Monkey Bagger Bars for 2014-present Street Glide/Ultra Classic
Shipped direct from the Bagger Nation factory, the pre-wired Monkey Bars come with both plug and play CAN bus control harnesses and connectors installed.  A pull wire is also installed on the throttle side, making the twist grip throttle sensor exchange painless.
The Bagger Nation solution eliminates the need to buy extensions, and the pre-wired option retains the OEM premium quality twist grip throttle sensor and comes complete with internal switch wires and connectors installed. These bars are compatible with the H-D heated grips.
When changing stock bars to Bagger Nation's 8 and 10 inchers, there is no need for new hydraulic brake and clutch lines, but replacements will be needed when installing the 12, 14 or 16" Monkey Bagger Bars.
They are made in steel, are drilled and have a gloss black powder-coat finish and have a 1 1/4" bar diameter with a 1" clamp and grip area diameter, 4 1/2" wide clamp area (knurl to knurl), 8" end rise/height and 15" center width (inside to inside). The overall width is 36" with a 9" pullback/sweep.

Pre-wired OEM Monkey Bars for 2015-present Road Glide
Also seen here are Bagger Nation pre-wired OEM replacement Monkey Bars for 2015 - present Road Glides. They also have both plug and play CAN bus control harnesses and connectors installed, H-D heated grip compatibility, throttle side pull wire and retain the OEM twist grip sensor.
With these stock replacement applications, the 10 inchers don't need new hydraulic brake and clutch lines, but the 12, 14 and 16" options do; also, on 2015 and later Road Glide Ultras and some CVO Road Glides, the purchase of the standard control clamps from a H-D dealer will be required. Available chrome or black with 1 1/4" bar diameter, 10 1/2" center width, 1 1/4" clamp area bar diameter with 4 1/2" knurl to knurl clamp area width, 1" grip area bar diameter, 10" end rise/height and 10 1/2" inside to inside center width.

Bitubo

Adjustable length XZE monoshock
Bitubo FTR 1200 Suspension Options

Italian suspension specialist Bitubo has turned its attention to the Indian FTR 1200 with a selection of upgrades for the stock suspension, including the front fork cartridges seen here and a choice of rear shock absorber "Better and Best" options.
The JBH0 - V1 pressurized cartridge (with red rings) is equipped with multiple extension, compression and spring preload adjustments. "The adjustment is extremely simple, using knurled dials on the upper caps of the fork. The plug and play install is fully reversible as no modifications are required; the pressurization of the cartridges gives greater support to the fork and improved handling."

The adjustable length XZE11 monoshock "improves the comfort and control of the vehicle while driving, and its versatility for model-specific set-ups and tuning has made it a very popular 'go-to' upgrade for a wide range of top-selling 'Nakeds' and entry level sport bikes." It is also available in the shorter version XZE61.
Bitubo's top-of-the-range options for the FTR 1200 are the XXF111 race style rear monoshock with manual spring preload and XXF31 with hydraulic spring preload. The monoshock XXF also has a shorter version XXF61 (with manual spring preload) and XXF81 (with hydraulic spring preload).

XXF31 rear monoshock with hydraulic spring preload

"The big step forward over the stock shock and our XZE are the reduction in overall weight, the wider range of new set-up possibilities and an upgrade of the adjustment of the length and the hydraulic spring preload - both in terms of functionality and ergonomics.
"These shock absorbers give driving accuracy and uniform tire wear thanks to the instant control of the forces in play, allowing maximum support in the bends at extreme lean angles, in fast changes of direction and maximum confidence in acceleration on all types of surfaces, including tracks.

JBH0 - V1 pressurized cartridge

"As well as perfect stability in even the most violent braking situations, the real innovation lies with the internals with new solutions to improve the damping coefficient and increase stability at high temperatures. The 14 mm shaft increases smoothness, while the 30 mm piston reduces the fluid masses that are in motion for a faster response to stresses.
"The adjustments are positioned on the upper head (spring preload, extension and double compression), while the XXF31's hydraulic spring preload and length can also be adjusted from there."

Aquatic AV

Aquatic AV Summer Special

As the name suggests, San Jose, California based Aquatic AV specializes in advanced and genuinely waterproof (IP65 rated) audio designs specified expressly for the unique challenges that confront delicate electronics in the punishing environment of a motorcycle - especially where vibrations and high all-weather touring miles are to be expected.

Top of the line Ultra Package with MP5+ Stereo, enhanced 6.5" ULTRA Speakers, Grills and Mounting Rings, 2-Channel Amplifier

This summer the company is offering a range of dealer kits, from its Sport Kit (MP5 Stereo and 6.5" SPORT Speakers) and Sport Kit Premium (added 2-Channel Amplifier) to the Sport Kit Plus (for use with an existing amp, but with added dust covers and MP5+ Stereo) and the top of the line Ultra Package with its MP5+ Stereo, enhanced 6.5" ULTRA Speakers, grills and mounting rings, and "Loud By Design" 2-Channel Amplifier for Harley.
Aquatic's Kyle Aeschilman told AMD: "Combining exceptional sound quality, high performance characteristics and unprecedented reliability into a 2-Channel Harley-Davidson motorcycle amplifier, it delivers 300W of pure power (150W per channel at 2 ohm), packing enough punch for even the loudest of environments."
It features Class-D digital technology and Bridge Mode with electronic cross-over, the 2x output channels, 2x RCA (low-level) inputs and 2x speaker (high-level) inputs with auto-detect feature overload protection.\

Sport Kit (MP5 Stereo and 6.5" SPORT Speakers)

The built-in High-Pass/Low-Pass cross-over is adjustable from 40 Hz to 400 Hz and allows the output to be filtered for optimum use with a subwoofer or mid/high-range speakers. Bridge Mode allows each channel's power to be combined for maximum output, ideal for use with a single subwoofer.
The Bass Boost feature provides up to 12 dB of boost to bass frequencies, allowing even more control over the preferred sound. Digital (Class-D) technology produces less heat, lowering power consumption and reducing strain on batteries and charging systems – "digital amplifiers are much more efficient than traditional amplifiers.

Sport Kit Premium (MP5 Stereo, 6.5" SPORT Speakers and 2-Channel Amplifier)

"Designed to support the widest variety of applications, the 2-Channel Amplifier operates at both 4 ohm and 2 ohm speaker configurations, from either low-level (RCA) or high-level (speaker) input connections. Running 2 ohm configurations allows more speakers to be powered and is ideal for high background noise environments such as motorcycle use.
"Our weather and road proofing are the best available in the motorcycle audio market, making for exceptional levels of reliability and durability. Conformal coated circuit boards protect the smallest components from any humidity or atmospheric moisture, while custom molded grommets around cable extrusions and gaskets between all meeting points eliminate any chance of water or dust intrusion. Aluminum and stainless steel are used in chassis construction eliminating any risk of rust or corrosion."

Sport Kit Plus (MP5+ Stereo, 6.5" SPORT Speakers, Dust Cover)

Kyle says that the 2-Channel waterproof Harley amplifier is perfectly suited to use with Aquatic AV waterproof Harley 6.5" ULTRA Speakers and 6.5" SPORT Speakers, and that his R&D experts recommend the use of their amplifier mounting kits to get the best from all their hard work! 2014 and up Touring models with Harley Boom Box Infotainment systems will require a system flash before the installation of any aftermarket amplifier.

Harley-Davidson

The Final King?

Unless we have misinterpreted news released in Europe, Harley-Davidson appears to have decided to retire its Battle of the Kings dealer-build custom competition and has done so with an online shoot-out between 15 (or was it 18?) prior winners.

Harley-Davidson Querétaro, Mexico, won with its stunning 'Apex Predator'.

The nominated platform was the Sportster, and some 50,000 votes have given the 'King of Kings' #1 plate to Harley-Davidson Querétaro, Mexico, with their stunning 'Apex Predator' - described as "their vision of the ultimate Sportster XR1200."
"The Querétaro team's mantra for the design was "Born to attack without a challenge - born to live without rival" - with styling highlights including a handcrafted 2-1-2 under seat upswept exhaust, combined with a vented, handbuilt tail unit to accommodate it, "creating a flowing line from the wave brake disc rotors and upside-down Showa big piston forks at the front."

Second place, Harley-Davidson Athens, Greece - 'Gryps'
Third place, Sykes Harley-Davidson, UK - 'Choo Choo'

"The clean, uncluttered front end uses the LED Daymaker headlamp from a Harley-Davidson Breakout; the bike's lines and design are uninterrupted by the TFT flat panel dash taking nothing away from the design. The bike also boasts a collection of custom hand and foot controls, paired with the hand-finished Alcantara seat unit. Additional bespoke bodywork incorporates the twin air intakes complementing the stance of the bike."
The grand final runner-up was Harley-Davidson Athens, Greece, with a Roadster-based submission 'Gryps', followed in third place by the UK's Sykes Harley-Davidson with a 'Choo Choo' build.

Special commendation was given to Thunderbike Harley-Davidson in Germany, awarded the H-D Styling Team Pick for 'Emperor' by Brad Richards, VP of Styling and Design at H-D.

Avon Tyres has been hit by a recall (on both sides of the Atlantic) for 655 of its new in 2018 Cobra Chrome custom tires. The problem appears to be a potential rapid loss of pressure caused by a manufacturing error.

Some interesting 'Factoids' in a release announcing Pro Italia Motors (Bill Nation) of Glendale Ca. as Italian electric sport bike manufacturer Energica's latest new dealer in USA. Some 10% of all US motorcyclists are in California; six out of ten electric vehicles in the U.S. are driven by Californians, which today are 5.5% of all registered passenger vehicles in the state, versus less than 2% for the country overall; 2019 US EV sales dropped -9% but grew in California by +5% in 2019; California has 26,000 EV charging outlets – a third of all those in the US and is investing $2.1bn to expand that network to support the ambitious goal of replacing 5 million ICE vehicles in Ca. with electric by 2050.

MotoAmerica has announced that Öhlins has signed on as a sponsorship partner for the rescheduled 2020 Series. "I have a long history with Öhlins," said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. "I raced with them throughout my GP career and won all three of my World Championships using their suspension. I've always had a great relationship with them, and I'm really pleased to have Öhlins on board as a sponsorship partner of MotoAmerica."

Global assembly of Honda motorcycles and cars was stopped by a cyber attack that disrupted vehicle inspection protocols and other processes at its plants around the world on Monday 8 June. Internal servers in Tokyo were hacked with a suspected ransomware virus. Most operations were said to have resumed within 24 hours, but along with car plants in the US and Turkey, the huge Honda motorcycle manufacturing hubs in India and Brazil were still offline 48 hours later.

Parts Unlimited is back as supporting partner of the rescheduled 2020 MotoAmerica series that got underway at the 4-mile Road America track at Elkhart Lake, Wi. in May. "Parts Unlimited has been a partner of ours since we started and were actually one of the first companies that came on board," said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey.
