MIVV - M8 Touring Exhausts
Established in 1970, MIVV is one of Italy's established 'mainstream' exhaust manufacturing 'majors' and EICMA this year saw them unveiling a first look at an update to its Harley aftermarket line.
Featuring exhaust systems for 2017-2025 M8 models, the MIVV priority is to develop exhausts that do three things without compromising or impacting any one of them - look good, sound great and add to the performance story of the models concerned.
"The end result," the company says, "is an aesthetically pleasing, stylish design that emphasizes the unmistakable characteristics of sound of the twin-cylinder engines, with improved performance."
MIVV initially made a name for itself in 'Harley-World' with its exhausts for the Pan America (2021 to 2025) and Sportster S (2021 to 2024).
These new additions are for the Touring models - the Glides and CVOs produced from 2017 to 2025. While "emphasizing the classic H-D sound" the company says this new HR1 line has added 3.5 hp to the maximum power.
The 4.5" muffler is made of highly 'workable' AISI 304 Austenitic stainless steel - a high-performance alloy known for its non-magnetic properties, excellent corrosion resistance, and high ductility - even at very low temperatures. It has a face-centered-cubic (fcc) crystal structure, achieved through the addition of austenite-stabilizing elements like nickel, manganese, and nitrogen, with the most common alloy being the "18:8" grade (18% chromium and 8% nickel).
Two finishes are offered - matte black paint or mirror-polished brushing; two styles are available - slash cut or round aluminum end cap. In addition to the two Euro 5 homologated street versions, Racing versions are available with a catalytic converter elimination pipe.
