Bigtwin Bike Show & Expo

Bigtwin Bike Show & Expo

Houten, The Netherlands November 7-9

The 32nd edition of the annual Bigtwin Bikeshow & Expo, organized by Dutch custom bike magazine Bigtwin, was beyond all expectations. Records were broken, more than 19.000 visitors, 142 registrations for the bike show, many presentations on three stages, 129 vendors and live music on all of the three days proved that the custom bike scene in The Netherlands at the moment is alive and kicking.

All well-known companies such as H-D, Indian, Zodiac, Snap-on Tools, Motorcycle Storehouse attended the show in full force. Even S&S was present with several people and famous powerful engines!

Don Cronin from Ireland won Best in Show with his beautiful Medaza Cycles built Nimbus Four.

In the AMD Approved Bigtwin Bikeshow it was again an all international gathering of the very best custom bikes from The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Ireland, Germany, England, Belgium, Slovakia, France, Austria, Italy and elsewhere.

The main sponsor was Zodiac International, who gave a staggering € 10,000 in vouchers with Radical Customz from Belgium, offering prizes worth € 5,000 in vouchers for custom paint and 16 additional sponsors - the winners received a total of over € 24,000 in vouchers, parts and cash.

Former AMD World Champion Don Cronin from Ireland won Best in Show with his beautiful Medaza Cycles built Nimbus Four - a completely one-off, hand crafted four-cylinder Nimbus with a one-off aluminium cylinder head by Medaza, with a twin carb conversion. A stunning, motorcycle with so many details - quite simply incredible!

Freestyle winner was Brit Larry Houghton of Lamb Engineering with his Norton Rotary.

Johan Wijers won the Classic Class with his bike 'The Half Harley'!

The Freestyle winner was Brit Larry Houghton of Lamb Engineering with his Norton Rotary. Another rarity, it was based on an ex-Police 600 cc Norton Wankel engine, with Arillia swingarm, Ducati front-end and wheels, with all the other parts and bodywork custom made by Larry in his own workshops - a stunning piece of rolling art that was a deserving winner of the biggest trophy at the Bigtwin Expo for the 2025 AMD Approved Freestyle Class win.

All the way from Spain, Manuel del Campo Escotet returned home with not one, but two huge prizes. His KTM 950SM has been Manuel's 'canvas' for seven years, painting his masterpiece with polychromia work carried out in oil and brush - featuring direct references to the work of Renaissance Master Hyeronimus Bosch. An exemplar of fine lines, meticulous details, and craftsmanship of the highest order, not only was he the Best Paint winner but he also got chosen (with a huge majority of the votes) as the 2025 'Public Choice'.

First Place in the Chopper/Bobber Class was Bart Hendriks with his Knuckle/Pan Chopper.

Johan Wijers won the Classic Class with his bike 'The Half Harley'! It is an H-D 1,000 cc 8-valve racebike, of which the front cylinder was removed so that he could race it in the 500 cc Class during the first TT Race in Assen, The Netherlands. That was exactly 100 years after it was raced by famous racer Bertus van Hamersveld, who was leading until a seized valve saw him slow and passed, but still taking second place.

First Place in the Chopper/Bobber Class was Bart Hendriks with his Knuckle/Pan Chopper. The engine is built using parts from a Knuckle-, Pan, Shovel-, and Evolution. A mechanical masterpiece of a beautiful chopper.

Clubstyle/Performance Bagger Class winner at the Bigtwin Bikeshow was Rudy Urbain with his H-D Clubstyle Factory / Lio Custom Low Rider S. In the Caferacer/Tracker Class overall winner was Enrico de Haas - Wannabe-Choppers, Germany.

It's not often you see Hyeronimus Bosch inspiring artwork on two wheels - Manuel del Campo Escotet (Spain) was Best Paint winner and was also chosen (with a huge majority of the votes) as the 2025 'Public Choice'.

His Royal-Enfield 650 Continental GT has a cast aluminium monocoque tank/seat unit, cast fairing and many handcrafted parts. The motorcycle took 1,100 hours to build and is pure art, with incredible sand-cast parts and so many details!

An Indian Scout, built by Florian Pfante at USM in Germany was the proud winner of the Custom Modified Class. His "UNIKAT" Indian Scout with USM/RF-Biketech wheels, custom made fenders and Wilbers Suspension, and a very detailed paintjob is a real eye-catcher, winning many prizes!

The Yamaha of Peter, Adventure Ride, took first prize in the Allroad/Adventure Class. Alexander 'TikiAlex' Frischauf came from Austria to claim the biggest trophy in the Mopeds & Minibikes Class. His cool customized Lambretta SX200 'Serveta' has a 20cm stretched frame, the engine has a big bore kit and 34mm Amal carburator; the special paint with its Silver base paint has a Black marble effect under Green Candy with the theme being Tattoo and Motorhead, with engravings, chrome and gold plating providing the finishing touches.
