Our thanks to Joe Philipson for news of the passing of industry pioneer Steve Fisk.
Fisk was a major player and catalyst in the early years of the founding in the United States of what became Zodiac International, and a pivotal senior purchasing executive for many years for Custom Chrome Inc. of Morgan Hill, California.
He was a larger-than-life character and was one of a handful of key buyers who played an important role in the early years of the evolution of the Harley-Davidson and wider custom motorcycle aftermarket.
The contacts and experience he built up sourcing parts and accessory tooling and capacity in Asia, especially in Taiwan, where he lived for many years, did much to lay the foundation for the explosion in the custom parts industry seen from the late 1960s onwards.
We here at AMD Magazine will always regard him as a friend and he will be missed.
