ZIPPER’S currently has a range of performance packages available that offer varying stages of tuning.
Among the products is the Zipper’s Zip Kit Powered by ThunderMax, which includes intake and exhaust upgrades. Each kit comprises of a Zipper’s MaxFlow air cleaner, the consumer’s choice of performance exhaust, and ThunderMax fuel controller.
For those looking for a simpler performance upgrade there is the option of a Zipper’s air cleaner kit. The air cleaner kits replace the stock air cleaner assembly and include a billet backing plate with internal crankcase venting and a high flow, washable and reusable cotton gauze filter element.
The kits are available with satin aluminum, black, or chrome plated breather ports.
A second intake upgrade offered by Zipper’s is a black S&S E or G carb kit complete with ThunderJet. The new black finish S&S carbs feature +.100in venturi bore increase and the addition of the ThunderJet third fuel circuit. Zipper’s is offering them as a carb only for use on S&S-equipped bikes, or as a complete.
To take the engine performance upgrades further Zipper’s has its Red Shift Hi-Torque Series cams for Twin Cam engines that offer a bolt-in increase in power across the range, but more significantly at the lower rpm, where a six-speed bike needs it the most. Red Shift Hi-Torque cams can be used with either stock non-adjustable or performance adjustable pushrods.
Staying with the cam chest, Zipper’s is also offering Red Shift dual piston cam chain tensioners for all ‘07-up Twin Cam applications. Red Shift Tensioners are a direct-replacement designed to improve cam timing accuracy and valve train control at two critical key areas; the drive and driven cam chains. Red Shift Tensioners are designed with shoe and hydraulic stability in mind, and are claimed to dramatically improve overall valve train control and durability.
All of the above performance upgrades are not for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles.
