Bitubo Suspension - Made in Italy, Raced in America
Bitubo Suspension may be race-bred and manufactured in Italy, but three years on from establishing its domestic U.S. operation, it is now starting to replicate the race prowess that has seen it become a European performance suspension staple - on the track in America as well as on the street.
In the MotoAmerica RSD Mission Super Hooligan Championships, Team Saddlemen is currently dominant, using Bitubo Suspension in its back-to-back victories at The Ridge Motorsports Park and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Jake Lewis of Saddlemen/Harley-Davidson clinched a thrilling victory at The Ridge Motorsports Park, marking a breakthrough moment in the RSD Super Hooligan National Championship. Despite a challenging start with a first-lap incident in wet conditions, Lewis powered through to win by over two seconds aboard the Harley-Davidson Pan America, solidifying his reputation as the class's quickest rising star.
In the second race at The Ridge, Lewis's resilience and skill catapulted him to the forefront once more, with Cory West, Lewis's teammate, clinching third place.
At WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Cory West added to Team Saddlemen's triumphs with a spectacular victory in the MotoAmerica RSD Mission Super Hooligan Race Two. Riding his Team Saddlemen Harley-Davidson Pan America on spec Dunlop tires, West seized the lead from pole position, dominated every lap, and crossed the finish line 1.137 seconds ahead of the competition.
EBH |
Team Saddlemen utilizes Bitubo Suspension's custom EBH and XXZ Race suspension systems to optimize the performance and agility of their Harley-Davidson motorcycles. "These advanced technologies ensure peak performance under the most demanding race conditions, contributing to Long Beach, California headquartered Team Saddlemen's competitive edge."
Bitubo's XXZ high-performance shock absorbers feature compact hydraulic preload adjustment in 10 mm (20 clicks) increments, with 24 clicks of low-speed compression, 20 clicks of high-speed compression, 24 clicks of rebound and 20 clicks of high-speed round adjustment.
XXZ |
Features include enhanced smoothness and stability at high temperatures, optimized damping performance with reduced fluid mass for quicker response and increased sensitivity and accuracy in adjustments. "The XXZ shock absorber architecture is designed to maximize grip, ensure even tire wear, and provide stability under various riding conditions."
Bitubo EBH shock absorbers are a high-performance FPS (Full Pressure System) pressurized cartridge architecture for high efficiency and immediate damping. Features include Extension Control (EC) for precise adjustment, lightweight construction (LC) with special alloys and an Overpressure Control System (OPC) for effective pressure management.
They have three adjustments - spring preload, extension and compression, with one cartridge giving the compression tuning and the other one the rebound.
Additional Bitubo technical features include its hydraulic control with patented FPS system; 27 mm Ergal piston in high strength, lightweight aluminum/zinc alloy); 10 mm pumping rod with anti-friction surface coating; mechanical bottom-out with polyurethane buffer in NBR; Cr-Si steel springs with heat treatment; upper fork cap with integrated spring preload adjustment; independent damping adjustment in compression and extension; Bitubo patented coaxial compensation chamber; Ergal cartridge body with anti-friction surface coating with the hydraulic lubrication separated from the sliding lubrication and pressurization force control system.
