Half year USA on-highway motorcycle sales +4.6%

The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC – Irvine, California) is reporting that among leading brands monitored, sales of new motorcycles and scooters in the United States increased +1.9% through the first half of 2026 to 273,992 units YTD, compared to 268,822 for the year-ago. 

ATV sales decreased -0.9% among leading brands. Motorcycles and scooters accounted for 76.7% of total new-unit sales through Q2, and ATVs represented 23.3%.  

In the On-Highway segment, retail sales are reported at +4.6% (163,082 units, up from 155,919 in the first six months of 2025). Off-Highway motorcycle sales are the second largest PTW (powered two-wheeler) segment in USA with H1 retail sales reported at 66,541 units, down by -3.3% from the year-ago. ADV (Adventure, aka Dual-Sport) unit sales were up by +2.7% at 39,276 units (from 38,251 units in H1 2025).

The small U.S. Scooter market was down by -12.7% at 5,093 units (from 5,387). ATV sales were marginally down by -0.9% at 83,214 units (from 83,984) to give an overall Powersports Industry new retail unit sales read of 357,2026 units (+1.2%) for the YTD, from 352,806 for H1, 2025.

New from California based Vance & Hines, the 'Gaslighter' 2:1 full system "ignites the performance potential of the M8 Bagger" stating that it is "meticulously crafted with a perfect balance of untamed power and classic styling. Long headers are designed to perfectly hug the cam chest cover and sweep upward to an oversized merge collector that feeds an "exquisite" reverse cone muffler. "The 'Gaslighter' 2-into-1 delivers an aggressive rumble that will compliment any performance bagger build.

"Finished off with a full-length header stripped of any unnecessary components, this system packs performance punch for both Gen-1 and Gen-2 Milwaukee-Eight Touring models."

It is a mid-length profile 2-into-1 system manufactured in 304 stainless steel with a hand TIG welded header collector and muffler and direct-stamped logo treatment. It is available in Brushed Finish.

Le Pera Tailwhip for Touring

This is the 2-up version of Le Pera's Kickflip seat - the 'Tailwhip'. It's more comfortable for the passenger than most 2-up designs with the "whipped-up tail" delivering subtle lower back support and security as well a 7 1/2" (19 cm) wide passenger seating area. 

The driver seating area is 12/1/2" (32 cm) wide and with two versions available - standard and the 'Daddy Long Legs' for taller drivers - it puts the driver 2" (5 cm) further back in the seat. The Up-Front version gives the driver a 11 3/4" (30 cm) wide seating area.

Goodridge Brake Tees for ABS Models

These trick little brake line tees allow riders to use approved Goodridge brake lines on ABS equipped models. Two holes are for the stock ABS hose connection, and the others can be adapted to approved brake lines or brake line connectors.

Sawicki Speed

Sawicki Speed - Intimidator Exhaust Line 

Described as having been built with 1,000 plus hours of R&D, Denver, NC based Sawicki Speed's Intimidator Series are the "next generation of performance exhausts for Harley-Davidson M8 models."

Said to represent a complete redesign, Sawicki says it believes these "to be the world's first fully CAD-designed Harley performance exhaust platform.

"Built upon the foundation of Sawicki Speed's legendary 2-into-1 exhaust systems, the Intimidator Series was engineered from the ground up with maximum real-world performance in mind. From primaries to merge collectors and mufflers and mounting points, everything was digitally modeled to maximize flow optimization and fitment."

At the core of the system are 1 7/8-inch primaries stepped to 2 inches, feeding into a larger, airflow-optimized merge collector. This design increases exhaust velocity while carefully balancing backpressure and scavenging – a combination that supports both stock displacement engines and high-performance M8 builds.

The larger redesigned merge collector produces "optimal backpressure and scavenging" with claimed average HP gains over stock of +10 M8 Bagger, +10 M8 Softail; and average torque gains over stock of +12 ft-lbs M8 Bagger, +14 ft-lbs M8 Softail and 6-27 lbs weight savings over stock exhaust (varies by fitment and muffler length). 

Fitments are for 2017-2026 M8 Bagger / Touring / CVO models (Shorty, Mid-Length or Full-Length) and 2018-2026 Harley M8 Softail models (Shorty or Mid-Length; availability excludes Fat Boy and Breakout). 

"2026 represents the 15th year of the Sawicki Speed brand, and Chris Clark, the President of Sawicki Speed said that "this system was designed to intimidate on the dyno as much as it does at idle. Everything about it – from the stepped primaries to the collector geometry – is focused on extracting the most from the Milwaukee-Eight platform."

Kraus Moto

Control, Style and Precision - "the Core of Every Ride"

That is what Utah based Kraus Moto says about the technology that is at the core of every Kraus product – "control, style and precision". 

With these risers they say they took "our proven best modular Isolated riser system and added an aggressively styled integrated digital gauge mount Core Top Cap that creates the cleanest setup yet."

Kraus' proprietary Isolated technology puts the bushings in the top of the riser to limit flex while providing vibration isolation to the bars. "This setup allows the absolute best riding experience because of the control that is easily and precisely transmitted to the front end. 

"Height and straight/kickback options allow for a dialed-in modular setup and can be altered to fit the rider's needs. The Core Top Cap houses a OEM or Koso aftermarket gauge in a bold precision shape. The entire riser and gauge is in a compact, tight package to clean up the cockpit."

Utilizing the supplied billet bushings, Kraus Isolated Riser Technology is designed to be solid mounted to the top triple tree, creating a much more rigid bar setup, producing far more reliable suspension and braking control. 

"As for vibration dampening, we relocated the rubber bushings just below the handlebar and inside what we call our riser midsection. Our proprietary use of these rubber isolators drastically reduces the amount of unwanted leverage being placed on the bushings, as well as creating a much more solid bar feel, giving you greater confidence in your bike's handling.

The OEM Softail digital gauge fits perfectly, or you can run this setup on your Baggers, Dynas, etc with the optional Koso D2 aftermarket meter. They are offered in 1" and 1-1/8"th bar clamping sizes and feature "light and compact precision-machined billet aluminum construction."

"The central mounting point makes for clear gauge visibility," and they are available in Black Anodized or Machine Finish in Straight or Kickback for an extra 1.5" of reach. Wiring slot in the center of the riser body allows for easy installation and clean wiring; features include increased bushing life and reduced maintenance needs.

Fitment includes all Harley Softail Models 2018 and up with the HD digital gauge - Standard, Street Bob, Sport Glide, Lowrider ST etc., and for Baggers, Dynas, Sportsters, and earlier Softail models Kraus offers a gauge conversion with the separately sold Koso D2 meter. 

"Most Softail applications will require an extension harness (KR-NSXH-3201 or 20-A91803A are available) and  8"+ Risers for Baggers may require an additional extension harness (20-A91803A); available in both 1" and 1 1/8"th bar clamping sizes to allow for use of stock bars and aftermarket bars.

"Our kickback and straight risers are modular, meaning you can swap out just the legs should you decide to run a shorter/taller rise down the line. Remember, all Kraus Motor Co. products are designed and engineered to be compatible with OEM fitments."
