2021 FLHR/FLTR Clutch Cables and Handlebar Installation Kits
Upstate New York based Magnum Shielding has responded straight away to Harley's decision to change its 2021 Touring models from hydraulic to mechanical clutch with updated clutch cables and handlebar kits.

"Although it is one of the biggest money makers, replacing handlebars is a challenging task on a good day," says Magnum Shielding's General Manager Tom Vierthaler.
"Figuring out what cables, brake lines and wiring is needed needs careful attention to detail, but throw in needing new clutch cables for the change to a mechanical clutch, and tricky just got complex!
"We've investigated the new clutch cable system, and at this point have determined the cable requirements and fitments for 2021 Road King and Road Glide models. Cables for models with fairings are in the works, but not available yet."
Magnum's Designer Series of smooth, low effort, high efficiency clutch cables meet all OE specifications for fitment, construction and endurance. They feature an attractive adjuster with integrated water-resistant seals that do not require a boot, and a transmission fitting seal that eliminates fluid leaks.
XR Series clutch cables are available with stainless steel braid and a clear PVC outer jacket or OE style black vinyl construction. Both incorporate the same features as the Designer Series cables, with a rubber adjuster boot in place of the internal water-resistant seals. "Our XR clutch cables offer a great fit, plus excellent quality at an economical price," says Tom.
All of Magnum's clutch cables are made with anti-friction inner liners and nylon adjuster inserts and are factory lubricated for smooth, consistent, long lasting operation. The cables are available in stock and plus lengths.
"For those dealers who want to make things even easier for themselves (and their customers) by using complete handlebar installation kits, we have introduced kits specific for 2021 Touring models without fairings when 12 to 20-inch ape hanger-style handlebars are being installed. These kits take the guesswork out of locating the correct parts needed for handlebar swaps."
Magnum produces these kits in premium Designer Series Signature braids, STERLING CHROMITE and BLACK PEARL with complementing chrome or black chrome plated fittings. Kits are also offered in the popular XR Stainless product line with three color combinations that allow the consumer to find something that complements their bike.
Choices include clear coated stainless steel braid with chrome plated fittings, and OE style black with either chrome or black chrome plated fittings. The coating on the brake lines and cables offers exceptional protection for paint and chrome.
