K&N is AFT Official Performance Filter
American Flat Track (AFT) has announced that K&N has been named the series’ Official Performance Filter for the upcoming season.
“K&N has been designing high-flow, high-performance motorcycle air filters for nearly five decades. A long-time fixture at the front of the world's premier dirt track motorcycle racing series, this newly-announced official partner status is a natural evolution of K&N’s extensive involvement in the sport.
“As part of that partnership, K&N will award a $500 Holeshot bounty to the rider grabbing the holeshot of each AFT Twins main event throughout the 2018 campaign.
“K&N products are widely used by teams in American Flat Track and we welcome their support for the series,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “The Holeshot bounty should also ensure some fierce action at the start of each AFT Twins main event.”
Founded by, and taking its name from, Ken Johnson and Norm McDonald in 1964, K&N has been dedicated to motorcycle dirt track racing for as long as it has existed. Long synonymous with performance, K&N has since grown into a motorsports powerhouse boasting a significant presence in paddocks as diverse as NASCAR, NHRA and Snocross snowmobile racing.
Last season, K&N-backed riders such as Brad Baker, Sammy Halbert and Shayna Texter routinely battled for the checkered flag in both AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines and AFT Singles competition. Expect more of the same in 2018!
“K&N is thrilled to join AFT as the Official Filter,” said Ross Berlanga, K&N Brand Manager. “K&N was born in the dirt, so AFT is a natural fit for us to show how well our products perform on the track. As Flat Track riders back in the 1960s, Ken and Norm saw a need to create a better filter, one that would provide protection, increased performance and longevity all at the same time. Almost 50 years later we continue to use the same proven technology that you can rely on in your day-to-day commute.”
