Lexington, North Carolina based C&S Custom has added high-performance, lightweight aerospace-quality aluminum swingarms for late-model Dynas to its ever growing range of custom parts and accessories for v-twins.
The company claims a weight reduction of 20lbs of unsprung weight compared to the stock swingarm, increasing performance and handling - especially "off idle and in maneuvring," the company says.
"We already provide swingarms in thousands of powder-coat colors, in chrome, or in contrast-cut with grooved louvers to match popular aftermarket rims, pulleys and rotors," explained Steve Garwood, General Manager.
Utilizing "proven technology to deliver a custom look at affordable prices," the swingarm is machined in-house, "using only military aircraft-quality 6061-T6 aluminum. It's specified by C&S because of its tensile strength, fatigue limit and resistance to corrosion - even when the surface is abraded.
"It is generally recognized that road handling characteristics are enhanced by reducing a machine's unsprung weight. All things being equal, a lighter motorcycle will accelerate faster, stop faster, and be easier to turn when changing direction, so when looking for performance, lighter is better."
Dealers can select stock lengths up to 10" over stock. C&S Custom supplies both single units and full kits, which include fasteners, caliper, wheel and chain, depending on what is required. The units are designed for Dynas from 2006 to present.
