Magnum Shielding: The Drag Specialties Louisville NVP Expo in January saw control cable, hose and handlebar specialist Magnum Shielding unveil a new update for a range of its already popular handlebars. Magnum has always made its handlebars from steel, now though they are using stainless steel, and then Chroming or Black Powder coating for a high class and very durable finish. According to founder and President Scott Hurwitz: "the result is a precision radiused bar with perfectly radiused bends and as near to zero internal cable obstruction as it is possible to get." JIMS: After years of development, Carillo, California based JIMS has updated its always popular and always reliable H-D replacement transmission program with the long-anticipated launch of the Fat 6 transmission - "a rock solid, 'bolt-in' performance upgrade for the stock, O.E.M. 6-speed 'Cruise Drive' transmission. Manufactured from aerospace grade 9310 American steel, JIMS straight cut, 53% wider than stock Fat Gears have been tested up to 550 lbs of Torque. These transmissions utilize JIMS quick shift ring technology, minimizing the annoying "clunk" when shifting. A lightened, one-piece, steel shift drum, combined with shift ring dogs and back cut gear pockets ensure that gears stay engaged. For 2nd thru 6th JIMS chose gear ratios that are very similar to stock, with the final drive ratio remaining at 1:1. The shafts and gears are assembled into a JIMS 6061 billet aluminum BIG bearing trap door that reduces flex in high performance applications.
