Last year saw Vance & Hines make continuous refinements to its FP3 FuelPak, adding features and updating ease of use.
The addition of four new options to the Sensor Data were announced in March: Instantaneous Fuel Economy - to read the current fuel economy in real time; Average Fuel Economy with cycle re-set button - to keep track of fuel usage over time and calculate the overall fuel economy; Power and Torque.
The version 1.4.0. announced in July included Cam Shaft Support (incorporating more than 50 different aftermarket cams in the View/Edit maps area); DTC information providing specific descriptions of trouble codes to better help diagnose the potential cause(s); AutoTune Force Quit and customer support features as well as Manual Firmware Update accessibility.
In September Vance & Hines added Speedometer Calibration, allowing users to precisely calibrate the speedometer for stock bikes or aftermarket wheels and tire sizes utilizing smartphone GPS, and choice of 3 different decel-pop reduction levels that can be flashed into the bike.
This was followed by improved (more intuitive) manual cam data entry and 2016 model support.
The latest news concerns bikes prior to 2014. The current FP3 is designed for the Delphi equipped models from 2014 – 2016, but now the company is releasing a 2007 - 2013 version for big twin models with the J1850 data bus.
This opens up the FuelPak options that dealers and tuners have to include Pre-Rushmore and out-of-warranty tourers - a big new business opportunity for Vance & Hines and their dealers.
