Avon Tyres

Avon Tyres Broadens Market Coverage

Avon Tyres has released a total of 11 new tires across its popular Cobra Chrome, Spirit ST and 3D Supersport lines, including seven new sizes with four established sizes optimized to suit a wider range of motorcycles.

The latest additions are said to "better match today's market requirements by increasing coverage across diverse model ranges, from older sports bikes to popular cruisers and small to medium displacement models from emerging brands."

The Cobra Chrome range sees the largest expansion, with seven new specifications released. Four existing sizes have been upgraded with increased load and speed ratings or have undergone a change in construction tech from bias to bias belted. This allows many additional cruiser enthusiasts to fit Cobra Chrome on their bikes, "enabling them to experience the tire's high stability and excellent wet braking".

Three new sizes are also included in this latest line extension, extending the Cobra Chrome fitment coverage across bikes such as the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, Sport Glide, Low Rider S and ST, as well as the current-generation Honda GL1800 Gold Wing series.

The launch of the new Spirit ST sizes (110/70ZR17 front and 150/60ZR17 rear) caters to a range of popular small to medium displacement models that have been released over the last decade. "Such models are popular with younger riders who rely on their bike as their sole vehicle, and the Spirit ST's state of the art tread compound and high mileage capability serves as an excellent choice for this segment."

Two new sizes also join Avon's 3D Supersport offering, with the arrival of the 120/60ZR17 front and 190/50ZR17 rear allowing owners of older sports bikes and roadsters and riders of current-model Japanese sport-tourers to take advantage of the tire's optimized handling and maximized grip.

"These latest additions are designed not only to enhance the riding experience for our loyal customers, but also to reach the next generation of riders by expanding fitment across the models they ride most," explains Don Argento, Manager Motorcycle Sales & Marketing North America, Avon Tyres.

"With its distinctive design and proven performance, Cobra Chrome continues to complement cruisers and tourers in both curb appeal and riding experience, and these new size additions represent a significant step forward for the range."

The latest Pied Piper survey has found that Indian Motorcycle remains the best rated dealer network for sales lead handling, with dealers in general missing half of web leads, and still failing to capitalize on digital opportunities. The 2026 Internet Lead Effectiveness (ILE) saw Indian dealers earning the highest average score at 55, marking the fourth consecutive year the brand has led these rankings. Top performers behind Indian included Harley-Davidson, Can-Am, Triumph and BMW Motorrad/PSB. The study evaluated more than 2,100 dealership website inquiries and found that more than 50% of customers received no response within 24 hours, only 47% of dealers answered customer questions via email or text, just 13% offered an appointment and only half of dealers followed up by phone/PSB.

PSB has recognized Z&M HD of Greensburg, Pa. for Community Service in its 'Best in Class' awards for 2025. "Z&M exemplifies Best In Class community service through a long-standing, meaningful impact across the greater Pittsburgh region. Custom Chrome Europe

Custom Chrome Europe Adds Harley Shocks by FG Gubellini

Teaming up with one of Italy's top-names in suspension technology - FG Gubellini (aka FG Special Parts) - Custom Chrome Europe has made a huge investment in being able to offer the complete FG Gubellini Harley-Davidson shock absorber program.

Hydropneumatic monoshock with internal gas compensation reservoir, designed for naked, touring, sport-touring, and road motorcycles (M8 and Pan America) with hydraulic rebound and up to 9 mm of spring preload adjustment.

It is an extensive range, from a company who has been respected for top quality, highly engineered suspension options for decades. The CCE dealer program includes 'Made-in-Itay' high-end race-approved FG Gubellini shocks as a high-performance suspension option for a huge variety of Harley-Davidson models from 1971 and up.

Founded in 1978 by Franco Gubellini, advanced suspension development started in the Nineties, resulting in winning 82 Italian, 6 European and 2 World Championships in various motorbike sport categories. Based near Bologna, FG Gubellini is already a hot tip for Harley customizers in Italy, yet Custom Chrome Europe is the first distributor to list the full Harley-Davidson range that is available from FG Gubellini.

High performance Hydraulic monoshock with internal pressurized Nitrogen expansion tank - recommended for M8 and Pan America applications. A robust and compact design that allows for installation even in the tightest of spaces at an excellent quality/price ratio. It features hydraulic spring preload and three independent adjustments, with numerous clicks that make a noticeable difference.

Hydropneumatic monoshock with external gas compensation reservoir (via flex tube), designed for road, naked, sport-touring, and sports motorcycle applications. It features spring preload, up to 9 mm of variable wheelbase, hydraulic rebound and hydraulic compression adjustment. All components of these suspensions are machined from solid 7075 aluminum (Ergal/zinc alloy) and steel. "This model combines compactness, advanced technical features and an unrivaled quality/price ratio."

Due to the massive number of different H-D models in more than 50 years of production - and the highly individual custom-options of the shocks, FG Gubellini manufactured H-D shocks are available from CCE on an application specific dealer order service from Custom Chrome Europe, then manufactured to specification and shipped direct to the dealer from Gubellini.

There are no less than nine different types of shocks offered - for almost all Harley-Davidson models - with the FG Gubellini fitment tables filling ten pages in the April/2026 Custom Chrome Europe Update.

Kit consisting of springs specially chosen based on the weight of the motorcycle and additional loads, with high quality FG fork oil oil.

In addition to specifying the HD model, year and type of shock, dealers can specify additional order details such as body weight, riding style and preferred riding style in terms of with or without passenger and/or luggage.

FG Gubellini will pre-adjust the shocks accordingly, ready to immediate installation. Most of the available pictures show shocks in the traditional FG blue color and will be delivered with black springs - or dealers can custom-ordered from a selection of additional colors on a 'special order' basis.

OEM replacement fork cartridges supplied pre-assembled and ready for installation. The cartridge radically transforms the hydraulics of the standard fork, making it more sensitive in the middle of the curve - ideal for everyday riding and sports use. Custom-made for customers according to the needs stated at the time of ordering. Advanced design with high-slip 25CrMo4 steel shaft. Steel cartridge, high temperature resistance and lapped to a roughness of 0.02.

A pair of rear shock absorbers from the Ultimate Suspensions line. Adjustable in extension (hydraulic return), wheelbase up to +9 mm and spring preload with rings.

FG Gubellini shocks are described as "highly adjustable - so changes to the customer's riding style or load requirements are easily tuned into the shock absorber, with a 9 mm wheel-base adjustment option offering greater flexibility if custom swingarms are installed.

Custom Chrome Europe is also offering FG Gubellini made fork cartridges and spring kits for upgrading Twin Cam and M8 front forks.

Harley-Davidson

New Harley-Davidson 'Deadwood' Softail for North America Only

Described as being "inspired by Post-War Garage Customizers and the Spirit of the Sturgis Rally," Harley has added a new north America only "black sheep" addition to its "Cruser portfolio" [Softails!] with the introduction of the Deadwood model, a motorcycle that "taps into the raw, stripped-down look popular with many riders immediately following World War II.

"The new Deadwood motorcycle celebrates this era with a rugged persona that evokes the spirit of the solo rider" and is slated for a public debut at the Sturgis Rally in August.

"The Deadwood motorcycle embodies that spirit of rebellion and individualism that was so prevalent following World War II, when many returning GI rode a Harley-Davidson motorcycle to experience excitement and freedom," said Bjorn Shuster, Harley-Davidson Head of Design.

The new Deadwood Softail - "stripped down vintage style".

"At that time, very few vehicles could match the thrilling performance of a stripped-down war-surplus Harley-Davidson. As designers, we find this era of customization and personalization, the early origins of the bobber-style custom, to be very inspirational. Our second key source of inspiration lies directly in the name Deadwood, a place linked to both the Sturgis Rally and to its own rebellious history. The graphic design for the tank art evokes a Western visual language which personifies that location."

Harley's news release stated that the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic V-Twin engined Deadwood is "stripped of ornamental trim and bright finishes, the powertrain, 2-into-1 exhaust, rear fender struts, handlebar and riser, hand and foot controls, fork covers and front end, signals and headlamp bucket are all finished in deep black. To highlight the V shape of the powertrain only the lower rocker covers and pushrod tubes are chrome plated. Denim Black paint covers fuel tank and front and rear fenders. The five-gallon teardrop fuel tank is topped with a black console holding a five-inch diameter instrument.

"Laced wheels with black rims reinforce the period styling. A tuck-and-roll solo seat with a laden seat height of 25.5 inches exposes the rear fender giving the Deadwood motorcycle one of the lowest seat heights of any 2026 Harley-Davidson model. The Deadwood model is not equipped with saddlebags, revealing the rear portion of a Harley-Davidson Softail chassis designed to mimic the clean lines of a vintage hardtail frame. Lowered rear suspension and a chopped detachable windshield give the Deadwood model a slightly slammed profile."

Additional features of this "stripped down" special include rear under-seat monoshock with hydraulic pre-load adjustment; rear suspension travel of 3.4 inches; dual-bending valve 49 mm forks; single front disc brake with 300 mm rotor; single rear brake with 292 mm rotor and tubeless laced wheels with cast aluminum rims that enable Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS).

Made in Germany by Kellermann Lighting GmbH, the ECE approved "clean geometry, consistent design of AXERA" delivers "precise and bright directional guidance."

Founded more than 30-years ago, Kellermann is a premium brand, manufacturing innovative motorcycle lighting solutions and aftermarket accessories. The company pioneered the concept of ultra-compact, high-intensity LED turn signals, revolutionizing custom motorcycle design by creating lights that are both highly visible and virtually invisible when switched off.

Le Pera Enterprises

Taking The Killer Café Style to New Heights

Design leading North Hollywood, California based motorcycle seat craftsmen Le Pera Enterprises says that riders should think about their new 'Stubs Spoiler' as "a café seat gone rock n' roll'!

"The bitchin kicked up tail section is highlighted by speed stripes and color contrasted pleats - all in a tight, slammed package that shows off just how perfect the stance of your bike is, rather than hiding it.

"This seat needs to be seen in the flesh to fully appreciate just how killer it really is. The speed stripes and stitching are available in a bunch of color options."

There is no pillion available and there will be a 1.5" gap between the seat and the tank on all 3.3 gallon tanks.

Lyndall Brakes

Lyndall Brakes Returns to MotoAmerica King Of The Baggers

San Marcos, Texas based Lyndall Brakes is continuing its sponsorship in this year's MotoAmerica series, competing in King of the Baggers class in partnership with Team Mad Monkey and Tobacco Road Harley-Davidson for rider #88 Max Flinders.

"The partnership reflects Lyndall's commitment to racing as a proving ground for innovation and performance. Lyndall's continued presence in the MotoAmerica paddock represents more than sponsorship; it's a partnership built on shared values of performance, precision, and pride in American engineering."

Flinders will be campaigning with Lyndall's new Monolithic Race Wheel and matched to Lyndall brake components. The wheel traces its origins back to Daytona five years ago, where the challenge to build a lighter, stronger wheel was formulated. "The result is the world's first truly monolithic wheel for V-Twin motorcycles - a boltless front-wheel design utilizing Lyndall's proprietary Lug-Drive attachment system".

By reducing rotating mass and eliminating unnecessary attachment points, the design increases rigidity and durability under race-level stress. It debuted at Round 6 at Circuit of the Americas last season, completing the final two races aboard Flinders' race bagger. This year marks the new design's first full season.

"I was stunned by how light they were when I picked them up for the first time," said Flinders. "My favorite thing is how they feel on the bike. The thing I noticed was how the flickability was so much easier, allowing me to throw the bike around with ease."

In a class where heavyweight V-twins are pushed to their limits, reduced rotating mass directly impacts acceleration, braking performance, and rider handling, delivering the "flickability" Flinders describes.

Lyndall Brakes CEO Paul Kittrell says that "engineered for high-performance racing, mating the wheels with Lyndall braking components delivers the strength, heat resistance, and reduced rotational mass demanded at the highest levels of competition.

"Through continued development on the track, we are constantly refining our technology in real-world racing conditions.

"Our products are 100% made in the USA, and being part of a series like King of the Baggers - where American craftsmanship and performance shine - is a perfect alignment for our brand."

Kraus Motor Co.

Kraus - "Crush the Darkness - Command the Road"

In a major diversification for the St. George, Utah based performance and handling parts and component manufacturer, Kraus Motor Co. is inviting 2023-2024 and up CVO and standard Road Glide riders to "see the light" - figuratively and literally.

"Prepare for total domination - this is not your average headlight upgrade," the company says.

The new 'Full Deck' Light Kit has next-gen DENALI Electronics LED technology, tactical beam control and a Kraus Moto quality precision mounting bracket. Kraus is inviting riders to "light up the whole road", but to "do it with style" with this new kit that includes the main beam from the Denali D14 and DL4 lights with the turn signals coming from the yellow colored DL2s.

"This is the brightest, most feature-rich, and street-legal lighting system ever engineered for the Harley-Davidson Road Glide."

It is a complete plug-&-play headlight upgrade kit with over 36,000 total lumens of lighting power - that is a lot. That is warehouse, factory, medium size sports arena, large parking lot and major road grade lighting power.

For context, an entire living room usually requires only 1,000 to 2,000 lumens total, and a kitchen might need 4,000 to 8,000 lumens.

The features and ratings include D14 dual high beam design (DOT high beam or Destroyer high beam), DOT/SAE & ECE street-legal high/low, modular X-Lens system, ultra-slim profile, ergonomic easy-adjust design and IP68 & 69K Waterproof - meaning it is submersible and high-pressure spray tolerant.

It is sold with a Denali limited lifetime warranty; the yellow X-lenses are sold separately and in sets of 1 - add 2 for Road Glide headlight applications; motorcycles equipped with aftermarket headlights or stereo components may experience increased battery draw. For best long-term performance, keep the bike on a quality battery maintainer whenever it's not in use.

The LEDs are (28x) 8 Watt High Intensity with a max power draw of 210 Watts/16 Amps (Destroyer high + low); raw lumens is 24,800, operating voltage 9-32 VDC with DOT/SAE Compliant & ECE R149 Approved Low Beam; DOT/SAE Compliant High Beam (Blue Wire) and ECE R149 Approved High Beam (Orange Wire); Destroyer Mode is ECE rated high and low.

The 125 cc and 300 cc Yamaha Tricity is not a model that is (officially) sold in the United States, but you may be interested (worried?) to know that in Europe (and elsewhere), Yamaha is introducing an integrated airbag in a production model for the first time. That's right - a three-wheeled scooter with airbag. The system premieres in the Tricity 300 three-wheeled scooter, which will also continue to be available without the safety feature. In the airbag version, the system is located behind the front fairing; in the base model, this space is occupied by a storage compartment. For the new model year, the scooter also receives cornering ABS, a Unified Brake System for optimal distribution of braking force across three discs - as 'Detroit' eventually found out the hard way.

German motorcycle registrations

Germany - motorcycle registrations +21.03%

The most recent available data from the IVM (the motorcycle industry trade association for Germany) shows new motorcycle registrations the first five months of 2026 growing at +21.03% (57,063 units).

Welcome though the news is, as elsewhere in Europe the data is still somewhat distorted as statistical reporting starts to lap the impacts of the late 2024 effects of the rush to pre-register unsold Euro 5 inventory before the new Euro 5+ regulatory framework became active at the start of 2025.

Those units were (mostly) subsequently sold by dealerships in 2025 (in H1 especially) making the apparently extreme decline in new registrations in Germany last year a less than entirely reliable metric, and the apparent strong growth being seen this year less than it appears to be.

However, the most recent three months have built on a strong start to 2026, even though the rate of growth has slowed. March was +40.27% (18,633 units), April was +7.69% (14,842 units) and May came in at +1.89% (11,802 units).

Total PTW registrations to May 2026 were +26.33% at 92,085 units (March was +45.59%/28,660 units; April was +17.18%/25,299 units; May was +7.38%/20,758 units).

As to be expected, the BMW R 1300 GS continues its market domination as the best seller in Germany with 3,757 units sold for a YTD 6.58% market share. The Kawasaki Z 900 remains in second spot (2,310 units/4.05% share); followed by the Honda CBR650 R (1,271 units/2.23%); Kawasaki Z 650 (1,084 units/1.90%); BMW F900 R, Yamaha Ténéré 700 and MT-07, followed by the CFMoto 450 MT in eighth spot followed by Yamaha'sMT-09 with Honda's CRF 1100 Africa Twin as the 10th most popular model in Germany YTD.

BMW has 14 models in the list of the top 37 best sellers in Germany for 2026 so far; Honda has 13 in the top 41, Kawaski 7 in the top 49, Yamaha 5 in the top 46 but Suzuki just 1 in the top 44 bestselling models as CFMoto starts to 'shake things up' with 5 in the top 47.

No surprise that BMW is the German market share leader (12,074 units sold for a 21.16% share (11,084 unit sales for the year ago period), with Kawasaki now second ahead of Honda third, Yamaha fourth and KTM fifth and Triumph sixth.

However, the real surprise is to see China's CFMoto in seventh spot among Germany's most popular motorcycle brands with 2,919 units sold YTD for a 5.12% share. Harley-Davidson is ninth with Suzuki 10th.

In the electric (light) motorcycles segment in Germany Stark Future continues the market leadership it took from Zero with 677 units sold, to 125 for Zero Motorcycles in second place (now a Dutch globally headquartered American manufacturer), ahead of NIU 96, Vmoto 87 with LiveWire trailing at 41.

For the record: total motorcycle registrations in Germany in 2025 were recorded as being a Euro 5 'pre-reg' distorted -36.02% (97,699 units) with total PTWs at -35.50% (161,744 units).

American Prime Manufacturing (APM)

Comp Master Clutch Basket

Recommended by many top mechanics and builders - such as Kevin Baxter of Baxter's Garage - American Prime Manufacturing (APM) Comp Master clutches and components "are recognized for their durability, design advantages and choice of materials," says President Ben Kudon.

"We studied the range of available aftermarket billet clutch basket offerings and realized that although some of them are upgrades from the OE basket, they are often still one of the weak link in the drivetrain.

"There is a tremendous amount of force exerted through the clutch especially, in a torque heavy motorcycle - or with a nutcase for a rider! So, we set about designing something that would hold up to that extreme environment.

"Together with Kevin Baxter we have engineered what we believe is as close to a bullet-proof basket as humanly possible."

These new Comp Master clutch baskets are made with high-strength, zinc-alloyed 7075 T6 heat treated aerospace grade aluminum that is as tough as steel but half the weight (7075 is the 'go-to' for superior strength-to-weight ratio). Comparable to many steels but significantly lighter (with a density of around 2.81 g/cm³), it is commonly used in the highest stress aerospace and defence applications (and bike frames) it offers high yield strength (approx. 500 MPa).

"The material allows us to manufacture these baskets with ultra-tight tolerances which helps to stabilize the clutch, which reduces premature wear." Each basket comes with six bolts, and three lock clips in an attractive four color retail box. They are available for 2007-2017 Twin Cams and M8 models.
