Just as you may have been settling down to read the Harley news in the latest (November) edition of AMD Magazine - we have an update from Milwaukee for you.
|Neil Grimmer, Harley's FORMER President of Global Brand Development |
On October 25th Harley-Davidson announced internally that it had removed Neil Grimmer as President of Global Brand Development following an internal investigation into his conduct - having only just hired him earlier this year, and after CEO Matt Levatich had made so much of the changes and (theoretically) improvements that Grimmer was bringing to Harley's marketing and brand management programs.
A report by TMJ4.COM, a news website associated with the Milwaukee Business Journal and WTMJ-TV, quoted a Harley spokesperson's email to the Milwaukee Business Journal as saying: "His departure comes after an internal inquiry, along with a third-party investigation, into concerns that his judgment and conduct as a senior leader did not align with our culture and the values we expect all our employees to demonstrate."
Matt Levatich told employees about Grimmer's removal through an email on the morning of Friday October 25. Grimmer was hired in April.
"Based upon our internal inquiry, along with the findings of this third-party investigation, we determined that Mr. Grimmer leaving Harley-Davidson was the appropriate course of action. Harley-Davidson takes all matters related to workplace conduct and our 'Valued Behaviors' very seriously.
"All Harley-Davidson employees, regardless of level, are expected to follow our Code of Business Conduct and Valued Behaviors," a Harley-Davidson spokesperson said via email.
