Rekluse M-8 Clutch Basket and Manual Slave Cylinder

V-Twin market reaction to the new 'APEX' manual clutch from Rekluse Motor Sports has been very positive. Featured in the May edition of AMD, and historically best known for founder Al Youngwerth's MX based clutch systems, the entry of the Boise, Idaho based specialist into the manual segment of the V-twin clutch sector has caught the attention of the market.

The tech and production expertise developed for life in the hugely demanding off-road powertrain landscape made a move into a fully manual clutch for the equally severe duty of getting the 'Big Inch' heavyweight cruiser power down to the pavement entirely logical.

The deep offer that Rekluse has already developed for the V-twin market has given it a platform to build on. That platform includes this precision-machined Rekluse clutch basket for Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eight models.

Manufactured from billet aluminum and hard anodized to "deliver enhanced clutch modulation, resistance to notching and extended clutch life, the tightly controlled tolerances ensure smooth operation, less drag and reduced clutch noise. Innovative world-class engineering and durable, robust construction allows Rekluse clutch baskets to safeguard vital internal components against the rigors of the road and demands of even the largest V-twin displacements.

"Increased basket durability eliminates breakage caused by engine power transfer and stress. Custom hardware unique to the Rekluse design - it does not require drilling of the OEM ring gear - helps this basket handle up to 200+ ft-lb of torque.

Launched in April this year, the Rekluse 'APEX' is the Boise, Idaho manufacturer's first entry into the manual clutch market for stock M-8 and Big Bore engines. APEX kits are available with clutch baskets as well for the ultimate manual clutch kit under one part number.

"Designed to pair with the Rekluse TorqDrive friction technology for the highest level of performance, it is machined to provide a trued rotation, resulting in less clutch drag, making it easier to find neutral and delivering smoother shifting. It is 'engineered smarter" to have less rotating mass, resulting in a better, smoother throttle response." Compatible with OEM or Rekluse clutch components.

Also seen here, the Rekluse manual slave cylinder for 2017-2020 hydraulic M-8 models is a "true bolt-on upgrade that decreases lever pull effort and expands the friction zone. Reducing hand fatigue and improving control for smoother take-offs, the hard-anodized billet aluminum components deliver enhanced sealing and premium durability - a perfect complement to any clutch, TorqDrive, RadiusX and other aftermarket or OEM clutches."
