SBS: The Danish performance brake pads manufacturer (acquired by Brembo in early 2021) is the Official Brake Pad for the AFT series for a fifth straight year in 2022 and has moved to further strengthen its market position in the United States with the appointment of Brands That Shine (Jessica Shine and Gunnar Heinemeyer) as its Dealer and Sales and Marketing Agency for North America; www.sbsbrakes.com, www.brands-that-shine.com

SuperTrapp: New products from the Cleveland, Ohio based disc-tuneable exhaust manufacturer include a new fitment for Harley's Pan America ADV. Using 22 pre-installed 5" discs "for a deep, low tone rumble" it ships with an S-bend connector tube and all the necessary hardware to bolt it straight onto the stock headers. The complete slip-on muffler kit is around 2.5 kg lighter as the stock exhaust and includes an approved spark arrestor. The SuperTrapp tuneable disc system allows you to adjust, or "fine-tune," the sound level, powerband and performance. The discs also provide a scavenging effect - the gap between each disc ranges from .023 inch (0.584 mm) wide on the inside of the muffler to .028 inch (0.711 mm) on the external open edge. As hot exhaust gases pass through the discs to exit the muffler, they enter a larger area, creating a slight pressure drop as the gas expands, creating a scavenging effect for the hot gas still inside the muffler. Adding discs increases the size of the exhaust outlet, increases exhaust flow and exhaust tone while reducing backpressure. More discs move the power band up to give more top-end power and lean out the fuel mixture. Removing discs decreases the size of the exhaust outlet, decreases exhaust tone and exhaust flow while backpressure is increased. Fewer discs tend to increase low-end torque and make the fuel mixture richer; www.supertrapp.com

Bagger Nation: Phoenix' brightest son, Paul Yaffe, continues to be one of the most prolific new parts designers in the market. S&S Cycle: With 18 months under his belt as president at the Viola, Wisconsin home of 'Proven Performance', ex-Harley man Paul Skarie says he's no stranger to the status and pedigree of S&S in the market. "This is a company with an unparalleled pedigree in the performance aftermarket and it is exciting to have the chance to lead it." On his watch, S&S engineers have completed 18 months of R&D and have this month introduced the long-awaited 129" and 132" Big Bore kits for M-8 engines - look for a full interview with Paul in the next edition of AMD; www.sscycle.com

Arlen Ness:
Recent news from the legendary Dublin, California parts and accessory designer and manufacturer is of a collaboration with internationally respected designer and former World Championship custom bike builder Winston Yeh of Rough Crafts fame. The company's partnership with Winston was first announced a couple of years ago, but following the sell-out of limited run initial inventory, the past months have seen Ness "go deep" to meet demand. Products include Rough Crafts' design finned/retro M-8 cam cover and rocker box designs and patented Ness tech- equipped air cleaner options. Air cleaner features include Ness award-winning hidden breather system and oil catch reservoir to eliminates oil blow-bye issues on M-8 engines. O-ringed at the heads, their hidden breather passes through the backing plate and exits inside the mouth of the throttle body through proprietary shooter tubes. This eliminates the need for any external hoses or hardware for a virtually closed loop system. Specially designed breather bolts are hidden under billet covers for a clean look; www.arlenness.com

Custom Cycle Inc: Now owned and operated by Ron Linville, the iconic Oceanside, California business (home to Randy Smith's famed finned engine covers) is still the 'go-to' for front fork tubes. Recent additions include radial brake caliper brackets for 43 mm fork tubes and 'Mad Dog' FLH and FXR powertrain mounting systems for reduced vibrations and reduced lateral and torsional powertrain movement; www.customcycleengineering.com
