Motorcycles as Art
This year's Michael Lichter 'Motorcycles as Art' exhibition at the Buffalo Chip during the Sturgis Rally and Races features an invitee reception from 5:00 pm on Saturday August 6th, then is open to the public for a week - entry is free.
Curated by celebrated industry photographer Michael Lichter, it is titled:
"Emergin' Virgin: Coming Out Custom"
This year's exhibit will assemble a unique group of craftspeople whose work has never before been seen in a Motorcycles as Art Exhibition.
"Removing any kind of thematic limitation will allow some fantastic new faces and works of art to emerge that show how truly diverse the world of custom motorcycling is today.
"You'll come across everything from a custom electric race bike to a customized Vintage 1984 BMW K100RS, a 1972 S2 aluminum Kawasaki, a custom Suzuki Speedway bike, a custom KTM, Panhead and Knucklehead choppers, and so much more.
"A one-time collection of wall art and painted Bell helmets will give you the chance to see legendary artwork on the walls of the exhibit hall surrounding the bikes.
"The exhibition will exist for only one week, and the Industry Reception is the only opportunity to experience it with Michael and most of the builders in the exhibit, along with past, present and future leaders of this incredible industry."
More than 30 builders and a dozen artists have accepted Michael Lichter's invitation.
