Mees takes another AFT presented by Vance & Hines win for Indian

Battle resumed in the AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines (American Flat Track championship) at the weekend (July 29 – the Harley-Davidson Calistoga, California Half Mile) after a three-week break, with Jared Mees taking the win on his No. 9 Indian Motorcycle Rogers Racing Scout FTR750.



The three-time Grand National Champion now boasts an 18-point championship advantage and has clearly turned the tide of momentum in his favor with four wins in his last five outings.
Second place went to Sammy Halbert (No. 69 Estenson Logistics Yamaha FZ-07) following impressive X Games gold medal performance a couple weeks back.


The final spot on the podium went to Brad Baker (No. 6 Indian Motorcycle Racing backed by Allstate Scout FTR750), with Bryan Smith (No. 1 Indian Motorcycle Racing backed by Allstate Scout FTR750) fourth. Lima Half-Mile winner Briar Bauman (No. 14 Zanotti Racing Kawasaki Ninja 650) was fifth; Jeffrey Carver Jr. (No. 23 Carver’s BBQ Kawasaki Ninja 650) sixth.
Factory Harley-Davidson riders Brandon Robinson (No. 44 Harley-Davidson Factory Flat Track Team XG750R), Kenny Coolbeth, Jr. (No. 2 Harley-Davidson Factory Flat Track Team XG750R), and Jake Johnson (No. 5 Harley-Davidson Factory Flat Track Team XG750R) all qualified for the final, finishing ninth, 12th and 15th respectively.
The series now moves on to South Dakota for two races in three days during the Sturgis Rally – The Buffalo Chip TT presented by Indian Motorcycle (August 6) and The Harley-Davidson Black Hills Half-Mile at Rapid City (August 8); then comes the Peoria, Illinois TT just five days later, August 13, followed by another three-week break before battle is resumed at the second Springfield, Illinois Mile of the season, September 3, Round 15.
